Meridian Heritage Festival
Saturday, October 4th

We attended the festival at the Meridian Historical Village on Saturday and it included a lot of activities such as Live music, cultural dance exhibitions, Farmers Market, Native American crafts, and a Blacksmith demonstration. Of coarse the blacksmith was a friend of Big D's. Doug Thayer has a very artful eye and we love his iron work.

The best part of the day for me was the pow wow. I could listen to Native American music all day. They did many different dances such as the Women's Fancy to the song butterfly and the hoop dance. They let the public participate in the welcome dance. The girls loved dancing with the Indians. Little C was so interested in the dances and music that she didn't take her eye away for the entire hour. Little C and I especially liked the hoop dance. As little C watch the young lady perform she said "I could do that". I believe that little C has music in her soul.
