Silver Bells in the City

We went to Silver Bells in the City this year for the first time. Big D works downtown so we parked in MSHDA'S parking lot and walked towards the capitol building. We tried to walk to the tree but got stopped by the luminating Electric Light Parade. My favorite float was Peacock Road Tree Farm's because the farm is an awesome place to visit and Santa was on the float. There was a big crowd so we kept warm but we had to put the girls on our shoulders so they could see. After the parade we found a perfect spot next to the news crew to watch the lighting of the tree and fireworks. The kids whooped and haulered with excitement as the fireworks were lit. I'd have to say they were the best fireworks I have ever seen something unique to see them light up the sky behind the capital. Z ran into a friend from school so stayed to let him chat for a minute. On the way back to the car we got hot chocolate and the girls had the chance to sit in Lansing's fire trucks. Little C was a little scared to sit in the truck because of the very loud dispatch radios so I sat with her. We stopped at Lansing Center to get warm and looked at the large beautiful Christmas tree.
