Big D and I had a great time at the Art Hop in Kalamazoo today.

Art Hop takes place at various locations in downtown Kalamazoo, from 5-9 p.m. on Friday, and it is free. A standout event at this month's Art Hop is "Battle of the Glassblowers" -- Glassblowers from around the state will participate in timed competitions to create glass art, 5-10 p.m. Friday and noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at the West Michigan Glass Society, Park Trades Center, 426 N. Park St. 552-9802, www.wmglass.org.
After touring the Park Trades Center we went to the Smartshop to view the latest ironwork and listen to the band that was playing.
Big D and I have been thinking about ways to display the flowers from Beth’s funeral. We thought about air or freeze drying them to put them in a frame but after going to the art hop we decided to take a picture of them and frame it as a canvas print.
