Dance 4 a Cure

October 29th, 2009

We attended Pleasant View's "Dance for a Cure" today. Mrs. Brooks the dance teacher developed this fundraiser in order to raise money towards Breast Cancer research and survivor programs at Sparrow. Mrs. Brooks is very passionate for the event because a close relative of hers recently lost the battle against cancer. The spaghetti dinner and Pleasant View's very own dance performers raised $1600.00 to donate to the cause. After the performance survivors were invited to take a center piece, balloons, and a flower home. I explained what breast cancer was to the girls and told them that most of the people in the room tonight had a friend or a family member that had an ouchie just like mom had years ago. The girls often refer to the pink ribbon as "Mommy's bow". Pleasant View moms and staff did a awesome job creating a successful event. The room decorations, dinner, and performance was extraordinarily uplifting.

Congratulations
